How To Keep Your Orchid Alive For 20 Years - it’s already been 4 weeks!? 🌸 Orchids die easily. But, I heard that if you put your orchid in water and leave it propagating, it will thrive a lot more than it does sitting in fir bark or soil. Orchids require bright light and they also are seasonal bloomers, which means the flowers fall off in the winter but they grow back in the summer, so a lot of people think that they need to throw their orchids out when the flowers fall off. But you don’t! They grow back. Orchids, in specific some white varieties, are my absolute favourite because they produce vanilla bean seed pods, but they are the most difficult thing to keep alive. It’s been 4 weeks since we tried this and I’m now back in Toronto, so we’re getting updates on the Cali one - it’s doing great. So let’s get my baby orchid in water now that I’m in Toronto - and we’ll have 2 experiments. Come back for updates, lmk if you have any suggestions, and thanks so much for following 💚🌱

The Bonsavocado Tree, Week 1🥑 🌱 I’m taking our avocado tree - the one where we cut the stem in half last summer - and I’m gonna try to grow a bonsai-avocado tree! This babe is 2 years old so I’m a bit scared, but we spiralled one of the two stems around the other, and as the leaves grow I will continue to shape it. I cut one leaf off to promote extra growth, and if you wait till the end of the video, you’ll see the process of us actually growing the avocado from seed and cutting the stem in half 6 months later. And now making a bonsai tree! So pumped. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions, I’d love to hear what you guys think. #howtowithjessie 💚🥑
